WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE THERAPY PROCESS?
An initial interview session will be scheduled with the psychologist to gather more detailed information about you and areas of concern. This appointment will last about 1 to 1 ½ hours.
Your psychologist will offer treatment options based on information gathered from the interview. These options may include therapy, psychological testing, or referrals to other providers in the area better equipped to meet your needs.
If your clinician seems like a good match for you, you will then schedule your first therapy session. After talking about the changes you would like to see in yourself, your psychologist will work with you to create a treatment plan. The treatment plan will guide the therapy process and keep treatment focused on bringing about important changes.
Therapy sessions typically last 45 to 50 minutes. We are dedicated to working with clients in a collaborative manner, with crucial session time focused on learning important skills and tackling personal goals. Your therapist will often design tasks for you to carry out between sessions to get the most out of the process.
